What do you think about the FE Nikon. Its just sitting around with a 50mm 1:2 a couple other lenses grip and flash. I wonder could the 50mm be used on R5. Just wanted your input as far as value and popularity of vintage camera

First yes you can use the 50mm on the R5. Just need to find the right adapter. Check fotodiox website. The Nikon FE is a nice camera for shooting film. The value? The FE isn't worth a lot but the body only should be worth like $100 or so. The grip (I guess you meant the MD-12 motor drive) is nice accessory and is worth about $40.
Let put it this way. The FE is a camera I would use.

I'll add my two cents: In the mid to late 70s I owned and used an FE, FM, FE2, and FM2, and they were all terrific cameras. Depending on condition, in the used camera market, they usually go for $!25-250 range for body only. The FM2, especially, has a strong following.

I am surprised in interest in a manual camera since everything today is automatic.

I have a black (not titanium) FM2, standard black leather case, 50mm 1.8, 35mm f2.8, 200mm f4.0 with Nikon 62mm L1bc filter, HN-23 lens hood, HS-11 lens hood. Lenses are all AIS Nikor

But but never thought they were worth the trouble to sell, pack up, and ship.

Your package would be worth perhaps $500?

The FE2 were my final film cameras, and I would be very happily still using them if we were still in the film era.

The β€œgrip” was handy for event shooting with my flash always occupying my left hand. Otherwise I found no good reason for adding weight, bulk, and noise.

The FE is automatic. Vintage automatic. Vintage is envogue. Perfect situation.

Don’t get your $$ research confused. An FE2 has important useful improvements over the FE.

"What do you think about the FE Nikon...."
Genessi I have two... Use them for beauty genre narratives were a "retro look" is requested.
Below is an example of one of my FE Nikons with an AI f/1.8 Nikkor...

"...input as far as value?" KEH is asking $180 for Body Only (Ex condition with a 180 warranty.)
https://www.keh.com/shop/nikon-fe-chrome-35mm-camera-body.html

If anyone is interested I'm asking $150 (plus shipping) for both of my FE's with the lens included.
PM me for details...

btw, the Model isn't included...
You'll have to negotiate with her agency...

Was /is a great camera, I bought it for my wife so many years ago cause she kept grabbing for my F2A, LOL. I have to have the film advance leaver fixed one of these days so I can sell it. More of a show piece in the cabinet now. I think you be lucky to get a buck and a half for it. It's probably why I never sold it.
