Thanks Photogirl17 (Lesley) for hosting another Free Weekend, a lot of nice photos there.

This challenge “Flat Lay Photography” is great for all kinds of things (small in nature) – books, food, jewelry, collectibles, etc! The idea behind Flay Lay photography is simply taking a picture from straight up above with no angle at all. Which can be tricky. I get to use this when the wife wants a photo of designs from the embroidery machine.
Helpful Hints:
If you don’t have a good lighting set up always try to use available natural light. I have used 2 small table lamps with 65watt/5500 degree kelvin led’s rated light bulbs when in a pinch.
Try to keep shadows down to a minimum, I believe harsh shadows are to distracting.
Always try to use complimentary colors for a background.

I decided to use some old School Books for this challenge.

An advance thank you to all who contributes to this challenge.
Bob
