A card game at sunset

I have had difficulty editing this photo. The sunstar is brighter than the card players, who are the main subject of the photo. Any thoughts on how to shift focus to the card players?

Be brutal in your criticism if appropriate. Thanks.

Great sunset. Move the card players to the right

I could have moved the card players as I composed my photo. How do I move them in post-processing?

And moving them to the right would place them behind a bush.

Thanks for your suggestion.

It’s a nice moment. If you could step back in time, zoom in or get closer to the couple for clarity. For composition of your current photo, this is what I came up with in Lightroom on my phone.

Nice shot. Composition is great but I have trouble with subject. Without title I would miss the players. First thing I looked for was the sun set. Subject (card players) should be primary. Just some thoughts on matter. I still like photo a lot.

They’re just not prominent enough to be the main subject and really not sharp enough to crop in.

Perhaps I am trying to force the card players being the main subject. I took the photo for the sunstar and not for the card players. The sunstar is the brightest part of the image, and I guess I should have focused on what prompted me to take the photo rather than something I contemplated "after the snap."

This would have been the correct crop for the couple being the main subject, although the couple is not sharp enough. In another response I concluded that the sunstar was the main attraction, and the couple playing cards was an afterthought.

Thanks to you, and to everyone else, for reviewing and commenting on my photo. If the sunstar is the focus, I suppose the composition is okay.

That works! Photos with Easter eggs, subtle surprise elements like this couple, hidden Mickeys (at Disneyland) are absolutely acceptable. Thomas Kinkade is known for hiding gems in his artwork, too.

If you consider the piffle Kinkade does “artwork”.

Like your original quite a bit, and Post is not my usual thing, but here is a cut at emphasizing the card players.

Oh I was leaving out the judgement as I’m sure there are some fans, too

QD has a good crop....

To me, nothing is in good focus, the trees on left is best. For a star affect, you had to have a small aperture opening. Where did you focus?
