That looks like the rock I stood on atop Cadillac Mountain, Bar Harbor. I wanted to be the first person to see the sun rise on America just once so I slept in my car at the gate, foot of the mountain. They opened it around 5 a.m. and I drove to the parking lot at the top. There were about two dozen people on the mountain that morning, all gathered around where the people in your shot are standing. I clambered onto the top of (I think that boulder) and waited for the sun to come up.

I thought exactly the same thing, Mike. Kip made a nice image.

Did the same thing regarding sunrise a few years ago. However, upon awakening we discovered the entire mountain to be covered with dense fog. Being the fearless group we were, off we went up the winding road to the top, in the same dense all the way. When we got to the top we got out and took some excellent photos of....deep fog. So we came down again and had breakfast. So, we have indeed been to the top of Cadillac Mountain, and have the photos to prove it!

That is an awesome view, Kip. The people add a lot of interest for me. I hope that girl doesn't take a tumble of the rock.

I try to intensify the impact of a photo by taking advantage of enhancing features. In this case the crown all looking in one direction, drawing attention to the views.

I failed to mention I really like the light you have captured and think you did a great job capturing the crowd activity as well. The day I visited it was cloudy. There was a cloud cover that lingered above the horizon line so while I was able to see and photograph the sunrise, within a few minutes the sun was behind clouds and it stayed that way the remainder of the time I was on the mountain.

Thanks for your observation, Bridges.
We humans may be focusing on one thing while the camera always focuses on what it likes best, and that is light.
