Help with Canon 6R

I just got a Canon 6R and I'm wondering if there is anything available other than the manual so I can figure out what all the different settings there are. I tried Amazon to see if there is a book available but no luck. Also tried RockyNook and struck out. I guess I'll see if there are any YouTubes next.

I'm trying to find out how the focus works. I keep getting a number of small blocks that keep moving all over the screen. Sure a big change from my 5DMk3; don't know if this old dog can learn new tricks! lol

EOS R6 ... don't force the authorities to come and confiscate.

Using utube to see the functions demonstrated might be your best bet. Rockwell has a long, free and text-based write-up with images of the older EOS RP that overlaps as an EOS MILC design / functionality with the R6:

Assure you've downloaded the full PDF manual, the document that is 800+ pages long.

Here's one option:
Recommended Canon EOS R6 Settings

Also, if you go to youtube.com and search on "eos R6 settings" you'll have a multitude of options to view for free.

David Busch is supposed to come out with his "How To" for the R6 in next month.

I purchased this interactive ebook a couple of months ago and found it to be very helpful. Understanding the Canon R6 by Nina Bailey. thttps://www.eos-magazine.com/ebooks/camera/r6/understanding-eos-r6.html

Try searching again on Amazon for the correct model (R6, not 6R).

You'll have better luck:

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Canon+R6&i=stripbooks&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

I notice one of the books is written by David Busch. I'm familiar with his books and have found them good, although I've never read this particular one (I don't have an R6). I don't know the other authors you'll see on Amazon, so can't say good or bad about them. Busch's book is available now as the Kindle edition. A paperback version is coming late in July.

Depending upon how experienced you are with cameras in general, I would also highly recommend Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure" as an excellent overview of how ALL cameras work. It's not specific, but is a quick read and very well explains how all cameras work. https://www.amazon.com/Understanding-Exposure-Fourth-Photographs-Camera/dp/1607748509/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1U6QP16EASEBZ&dchild=1&keywords=understanding+exposure+4th+edition+by+bryan+peterson&qid=1623477584&s=books&sprefix=understanding+exposure%2Cstripbooks%2C230&sr=1-1

Actually David Busch's book for the R5/R6 is available now in pdf format from RockyNook if you'd rather not purchase a Kindle version from Amazon, and the hardcopy book is expected to ship August 10.
