Get a Return Authorization from the vendor and return within their specified return period, then expect no problem. Otherwise, all bets are off.

I'll add, 'in original condition'.

One of them did not provide a prepaid shipping label so I hadda point out that it’s being returned due to being faulty. Then they provided the label. Thaz my total “grief” in very many transactions. Usually they don’t really care about the reason. Maybe some new clerk was just being a bit too officious ?

No problem with Adorama. They are very accommodating.

I've never had the need, but I can't see why there would be a problem, assuming the lens is in good condition. This is why we buy from reputable dealers.

Not enough information to give a proper response. Why was it being returned, in what time period, condition, anything missing (box, packing materials, original paperwork, etc.)

I’ve only done business with B&H and it couldn’t have been simpler!

No experience with Adorama, but did have to return an expensive camera and accessories to B&H a few years ago because it didn't really suit me. Had absolutely NO problem. I contacted them via email for an RMA, printed it out, read and followed the instructions to a "t". A few days later I received an email informing me they'd received the camera et al and that a credit to my credit card would be processed. It was. I did have to pay return postage and insurance since there was nothing wrong with the camera, and it was my decision to return it.

Packaging may be a critical point. Pay attention to their instructions, very careful attention.

As others have stated, B&H, Adorama are excellent sellers, as long as YOU stay within their time frames for returns... many reviewers now have stated that the china made lenses more often now have issues with quality control...that is the LENSES don't work properly ... it's usually NOT obvious until one tests them at various lengths for zooms... w/primes... adds the Fine-Tuning to see IF it can be adjusted within these parameters.

I had a Nikon 200 500, which was NOT sharp for sure at 300 and would not focus finely at certain distances... I returned it to B&H within 30 days and purchased a 300f4 at the same time. The 300 was great.

Which lens was bad? You state 300 and 500, were both bad? or did you just change your mind?

I have not had any problem with either vendor. I have tried out lenses on many occasions and returned what I did not find suitable for my needs. On one occasion, B&H or the courier damaged a lens that I shipped to B&H on a trade. B&H immediately made good on the trade value without question. Adorama has a return form that you can download and print from the internet. CHG_Canon suggested that you get a return authorization, which certainly is a good idea, but I never had an issue without one. Both are very reliable vendors. Just package the lens properly and send it within the 30 day time frame, which is plenty of time to test the lens. You should keep a copy of your original invoice. BTW, you may not receive a credit for the shipping cost fir the return of a used product that’s as not damaged upon your receipt of the lens,
