What a wonderful story. Such a forgiving attitude and a drive to return to what was previously. Kudos to Don Flesch, his employees and his customers. May he continue for many years to come and may the store continue to thrive.

I shopped their in the 60's and would see the father working the floor with the salespeople and customers. He was very nice. The son is the same way. Not surprised about his gracious and forgiving response.

I honor this man. What an attitude! It is so sad and inflammatory to me what ignorant and stupid people do to innocents. I hope they found who did the damage and prosecute them beyond the limit! I lived in Chicago and often visited this store. It is too bad that there are few ignorant White, Black, Oriental, Hispanics and you name it; race color or origin, Stupid is Stupid , no matter!

Frankly, I would have preferred reading that he did as Korean store owners did in the Los Angeles riots. They stood armed in their doorways. Theirs were the only stores not burned and looted.

"Civil unrest" = criminal rioting and lawlessness. Sadly with no repercussions.

It was a wonderful place to do business. They were the best with their customers. I lived in NW Indiana and if I bought a lens or camera ect. they would have me take whatever I bought and let them ship the empty box that it came in and I avoided paying sales tax. How good is that. I for one was very saddened when I seen the event unfold on TV.

Visited their store with my Dad as a young boy and in high school. All kinds of cool inventory.
