I see lots of people with dogs at the grocery store or the pharmacy. I ask them if their dog is a service dog and they get offended.so I proceed to tell them that if their dog is not a service dog ,then they must be service humans and they get more offended .

I wish people WOULD keep their toddlers "on a leash". They were called reigns in my day.(SP?) I shudder when I see a baby heading for the escalator, and mama busy socializing.

If it's a child, is it a leash or is it a tether?!

does not matter what it is , as long as the child is under parental control. I would say a tether is to keep it in one place, a leash for walking along.

Where do you see lots of people with boys in a grocery store or pharmacy? I've never seen dogs in my local pharmacy or grocery store. I bring my dogs into Home Depot quite often. I put their pad in a shopping cart and in go the dogs. They are tethered, even in the shopping cart so they can't jump down and run around. People always come up and want to pet them. I tell them to be careful, the dogs are highly trained killer attack dogs. They are Coton de Tulear's. Pretty much all white, soft and fluffy and some of the friendliest dogs there are. Killer attack dogs, tee hee...

Apparently you have never had a child that was very inquisitive, my 3dr daughter was just such a child, she wanted to see everything and would take off in the blink of an eye, we had a child harness for her to keep her safe, and to keep out sanity. Today she is educator with a masters deg. she will retire this summer after 30 yrs of teaching in special ed. She is sad about her retirement because it is due to politics in the Educational system.

I would suggest you engage your Brain before starting your mouth.

While I would have no problem with little doggies in a cart, I have complained locally and to the national HQ of Home Depot about their policy of letting dogs into the store. I have had dogs my entire adult life, and NEVER have they requested to go shopping at HD with me, and never had I thought they would appreciate it all that much. At my local HD I have had to go around dried dog poop on the floor, had to turn around and choose a different aisle due to the presence of two large pit bulls in the aisle I wanted to go down, and one time a woman was walking a huge dog, unleashed, right in front of the appliances when it squatted and let loose a huge flood of doggy diarrhea! Not a pleasant site OR smell! I wonder what poor schmuck had to clean THAT up! It may have been his last day at Home Depot!

Can't imagine. HD would be just as liable for a bite as the owner.

How was that doing?

Who, me? I do no mis-fingering in my typing.

My peeve is the kids standing in the front of the basket, even bouncing. I will block the cart and ask the parents to have their child sit down. I tell them that their next event will be the trip to ER because their child took a nose dive to the floor. I have ordered a few kids to sit. Then face the parents.

Re: Your daughter. Has she given thought to tutoring?

PS., it is my stance that only service animals (officially recognized) should be allowed into any store.

I'm glad your daughter has had a successful life and career but with your obvious lack of a sense of humor I hope she was happy as a child. I've only had one child, an inquisitive, active, intelligent, and extremely happy son who was never harnessed or leashed to keep him under control. We always knew where he was and what he was up to. I now have two beautiful, inquisitive, active, intelligent, and extremely happy twin granddaughters who have never been on a harness or leash either. I'm sorry you had to control yours the way you did. Actually I'm sorry for your inquisitive daughter, not you. I know a lot of parents resort to this method of control. BTW, not that it makes any difference, but my son has 2 masters (English and Journalism) and his wife is an attorney. Congratulations on your daughter's pending retirement.

I would suggest that you work on improving your sense of humor and not worry about mine.
