For sale.. Lumix FZ1000 bridge camera. Condition is a 9.

Included is the camera, lens cap (with lengthened cord), lens hood, both a wall charger and a charging cord, new strap given to me by a friend (never used, and I don't know how to attach it even), 2 OEM Panasonic batteries, an additional third party battery, and my Colormunki Display monitor calibrator (which will work with some of the newer i1 Studio Display software (check with X-Rite).

In addition, I am offering a 30 money-back guarantee. As long as it's in the same condition you got it you can return it within 30 days for any reason or no reason at all. You will have to pay return postage, insured.

You can see full specifications by clicking on this link: https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonic-lumix-dmc-fz1000/2.

The one flaw (which is why I rate it a 9) is that the rear LCD screen has this one stupid dark spot on the bottom right (when the screen is tucked in, and in the upper left when it is extended) which my camera shop tells me is some missing pixels. It looks like an ink stain to me, but I haven't been able to clean it off. The spot does not appear when using the viewfinder to focus and shoot.

When viewing the picture on the screen, the spot is there. The spot is not in the picture, only on the rear screen. I'll be happy to send you a picture of the flaw if you are interested in the camera.

It in no way effects the images, and it does not appear in the actual image.

It is a good camera, spot or not. You can use the EVF if the spot is bothering you?
I would keep it and use it. I own it and enjoy it.
It is as good as its competing and somewhat similar Sony - which only has a longer zoom.
The question is whether you will be using a longer zoom than 400mm anyway?
Happy shooting!

Thanks for your comments which are actually a recommendation for the camera, Paul. I'm not selling it because of the spot. I'm selling it because I wanted the features of its successor, the FZ1000 ii: being able to bracket and use the self timer at the same time, having a touch screen, and a couple of other things other people may not care about but are meaningful to me.

How is this camera for portraits, say somewhere in the 10-15' range?

Hi, Hartwell. Your question is certainly a valid one, but I can't give you too much of a direct answer based on my own personal experience; I just don't do much in the way of portrait photography. But I can tell you several things:

1) The camera overall takes very good pictures. You can find many reviews on YouTube agreeing with that statement.

2) The following link will take you to a YouTube search result page on which you may be able find an answer to your question: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=portrait+photography+panasonic+fz+1000. One of the videos on this page which directly addresses your question is the one with Polina.

3) I was at a friend's house shortly before the pandemic who is a professional photographer. He asked me what camera I had. I told him it was the fz1000, and he said (basically), "Oh, I have that one also. I love it." He's published several books. His name is Glenn Cuerden. I will be happy to do what I can to help if you would like to talk to him.

4) Ask your question directly as new topic in UHH, since I know a number of UHH members own this camera.

5) In my posting, remember that I offer a 30 day money-back guarantee. So you're welcome to try it for 30 days and then return it if you don't like the photos it takes. Do remember that this is a 1" sensor camera, so it may or may not meet your needs. You might also check out your local camera store and ask the employees what they think of it. Here in Denver I've found that the employees who actually sell the cameras are pretty knowledgeable.

Finally, in 2019 we went to Ireland. Before clicking send on this reply, I looked over those photos and found several portraits, mainly candids. They were all taken in RAW format. If you would like I'll be happy to convert them into jpg format and send them to you.

Let me know if I can help further.

In any case, thanks for your interest.

Thanks, Barry.
I wasn't aware of the 1" sensor so for now, at least, I will have to pass.
I have found a very good deal on a D5600 that will perfectly suit my needs.
However, I have done some research on your FZ1000 and found it to be very nice for all-around photography so I will be checking back in a couple of months to see if it is still available, providing I have the money then.
