Latest CIPA numbers show why Camera Manufacturers Are Focusing On Mirrorless
More sales increase, and much more profit per sale of each mirrorless cameras than other cameras.

Logic dictates that a manufacturer would rather a customer buy stuff that has an 80% profit margin as opposed to a 30% profit margin.
And if sales on those products keep increasing, they'll quit making the other less profitable ones.
Isn't new technology great?
Things die by attrition.
But the new stuff does more!
It always does. Look at what technology is in the newer cars compared to older cars.

Yes...it is an excellent strategy for a temporary boost. It will work until the market of enthusiasts is satisfied. But the follow-on market will already be satisfied by all the still-shiny used DSLRs which have been dumped by the abandoners, and meantime, there's no other viable pathway in for new folks because no one is making entry-level cameras anymore. Unless...and just unless...the prices drop to levels supported by the old profit margin percentages.
As for the technology of new cars, it's a little different. It almost guarantees a constant revenue stream from mandatory repairs of complex things that now break or wear out more quickly. And now, when you buy a new set of tires, you have to buy a new set of wireless valve stems which transmit tire pressures to a central receiver, not the old, much less expensive ones that served well for years. And every time tires are rotated, the new valve stems have to be reassociated with the receiver with their new location on the car.
And as for other new functionality, like Lane Assist, and autodrive, we'll just have to see how that works out for us. I have yet to see that most states can even keep fresh center stripes and fog lines painted on their pavement.
Every time a mirrorless camera gets its wings, a DSLR somewhere explodes into a puff of dust. If you want to keep that old equipment, use large ziplock bags or trashcan liners for easy cleanup of the resulting mess.

Why would I want to go mirrorless when I have a great DSLR and selection of quality lenses.

Once you have glimpsed the fine details of the world through an Electronic View Finder zoomed to 10x, it becomes impossible to live anymore in a world limited by mirrors.

But you don’t matter any more. Keep it. All of it. No big deal. Keep calm and carry on.

That's the point. It's no longer about photography at all. Or at least not much. It's about money. And survival.
The future is not made of the same stuff as the present, the future does not have mirrors.
So it's now time to buy a DSLR. You can choose the best as there are nothing better in the future.

You're getting the hang of it.
