Someone posted a question on the general photography topics forum about an eye cup for the Nikon P900. Unfortunately, Nikon saw fit to not include one with the P900. In fact, a similar thread was made some time ago. I did some research and tried several different options for putting an eye cup on my P900. What I ended up with was a rubber eyecup designed for the Canon 5D series cameras. I picked one up and found I could stretch it over the P900’s viewfinder. However, the diopter adjusting knob posed a problem. What I did was use a small scissors to cut a small notch in the edge of the eye cup, then stretched it over the viewfinder. I had to work with it a bit to get it to fit snugly without slipping off, as the ledge of the viewfinder is pretty shallow. The only negative is that stretching the eye cup so much results in a slight “dip” in the top edge of the eye cup. It’s not in the way, though. Just looks a bit odd. Here’s some pictures to show it. And yes, this is a repeat of the other thread, but I thought I’d do another thread on the bridge camera forum for those who follow it.
Thank You for posting the idea! I will do it to my P1000 also.
