If your software is not listed…
► I may not have the information
► The software is too old and not supported
► It is part of a software publisher that has many offering (Adobe by example)

I will update the list periodically.

Your input will be deleted once I use it to update the list. This is not an indication of disagreement, but the desire to keep this thread as short as possible. Note that I keep a 'thing to do' post so that I do not get lost… (Absent minded and all that)

When giving me a title, please give me at least a link to the software publisher so that I can visit it and check the requirements.

Notes
Software made for smartphones are not listed. Not sure if they ever will be, either.
Plug-ins and add-ons are usually software specific. I may list them later on in a different thread.

Hello All, and I hope all is well.
Heck…..I found this section AFTER I had written this question…..so please excuse awkwardness …..”

One of the frequent inquires on the Main Forum is for recommendations for Post Processing software. The UHH responses generally and wisely recommend (testing) the “usual suspects”: Adobe LR and Elements, Skylum/Luminar(s), Topaz, DXO, Capture One, Perfectly Clear, and other capable products.

After a minor GAS attack, I just upgraded the “rarely mentioned” Exposure v6 to v7 and continuing to use it as (one of) the plug-ins for Lightroom 6 and Elements ‘22. IMHO, it’s a really stand alone or plug-in supplement for LR 6 and I’ve been very satisfied with it.

Full disclosure: I also have all version of the Luminar products, DXO suite, and a free Fuji version Capture One for Fuji, as plug-ins. They all have unique feature offerings, user interface, learning curves, file management, raw capabilities, update schedules; and pricing structure.

Please note: I’m not endorsing any of these brands, just curious if anyone else has user experience with the “seldom mentioned” Exposure 6 of 7 programs?

Since we need to get back to shooting, thanks for your thoughts, comments, and time.

Excire Foto - image management/database program that uses AI to automatically assign keywords
Excire Search - does the same as a plugin for Lightroom.

Rong Nong No, thanks for the list of post-processing software. My only suggestion is to drop the word "simple" when referring to IrfanView. I have used this software for my professional work as a physics professor and as a photographer and have found it very powerful.

If Ron Davis is reading this, I'll just offer that IrfanView is a very good post-processing program for working with photographs. Just in the Image [editing] menu alone, there are 29 options, and under the Effects in this menu are 16 subopations. Of these I use a half dozen very regularly. For example, the Blur subsubmenu with a numerical slider is an excellent de-noising function.

On a personal level, it is interesting to learn to know *or guess) a bit about the persons who are respondents on UHH forums. If I am correct, Rong Nong No lives in Cambodia. If so, that is great. My wife and I have lived for three years in Belize and two and a half years in Albania and the rest in the US. --Richard

I read the list 3 times and didn't see Lightroom. Am I missing something?

It is the Organizer listed under Adobe.

Of course, there are TWO major versions of Lightroom, the NEW(ish) Lightroom (cloud-connected multi-device system), and Lightroom CLASSIC, which is the natural evolution of Lightroom from the mid-2000s.

Adobe has several subscription plans and no more "license it once" plans that include their professional apps. I use the $9.99/month plan that includes primarily Photoshop, Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Bridge, and a little bit of online storage (20 GB, I think).

If I'm repeating, just delete. I find this one to be very easy to use and it does a good job with the basics as well as some more difficult tasks. The cheaper versions are a one year license and the $50 one is lifetime. The best part for me is the "how-to" buttons in each segment. Works well for Windows and there is a Mac version I can't speak to.
