Talk about oldies! This is a short movie shot by William Heise and produced by Thomas Edison. It shows Annie Oakley firing rifles.

Awesome.
Another good one when you can find it is his movie version of Frankenstein.

That is great footage. I read a book about her so it was great to see her in action!

There was a special about her on American Experience (PBS). She was truly remarkable with any sort of firearm from a shotgun to handgun. The clip shows her shooting silver dollars out of the air as the guy throws them up. She could take 5 or 6 silver dollars in her own hand, throw them up in the air, and shoot all of them before they hit the ground.

Great find Jerry. Thanks for posting.

I was always good with a rifle but never good with a handgun... and that has got worse with essential tremor.

There is that old saying... “can’t hit the broad side of a barn”... well, sometimes I “can’t hit the broad side of a barn” WHEN I AM INSIDE THE BARN!

For anyone interested in Thomas Edison visit the Edison/Ford Museum in Ft Myers, Fl. and their winter homes. They were camping buddies also and took a huge entourage of gear and servants with them.
