I might have if they'd made it with an articulating screen.

I would have done an order but I have a problem - convincing the better half why I need it considering I have a K100D, K20D, K3, K5 and a K1-MII. (I gifted a K10D and a K7 to family members to make space a while back)

I still do use the K3 as a backup to the K1-MII.

I will just have to sit this release out for about 12 months before it follows the standard line..... look what fell off a delivery truck right in front of the house.

I picked up a KP last Fall, which is an excellent performer. I have a K5, K3, and K-01, so I’ll wait on the new mark3 until: (1) I get rid of an older model and (2) the $2K price is reduced.

While I'd love to get in on the ground floor to upgrade my current K3, it's a bit out of my price range and it's going to take quite awhile for me to save up that kind of scratch. At this point, if I were to try to upgrade, I'd probably go with a used Canon 7D II for it's outstanding auto focus, etc. However, I am really interested in any significant improvements in low light capabilities and in auto focus on the new K3 III, especially since I have more K-mount lenses than I do Canon. I would also have to agree that an articulated screen would have made this new model far more attractive to many of us out here. All in all, I'm sure it's a great camera, but at least for me it's all about bang for the bucks and currently that's an original K3. Good luck and good shooting to all.

I agree. So far I really haven't seen the $2000 WOW. I have a K-70 and a K-5 and without the articulating LCD I think I will pass for now.

Recently got a backup original K-3 for my aging original K3 and use them both. An articulating screen would have been a real attraction for me, but I will wait a bit and see how responses come in from real world users. I will miss the little flash too, for my handheld macros.

I purchased a new K70 last year so will not be looking at any new camera bodies for some time. However, if (and that is the biggest two letter word I know), IF I were looking into a new camera body, I think I would put the 2K into a K1 for the full frame sensor, give me an opportunity to use my old film SLR lenses, many of which are primes and not used much on my crop sensor cameras.

I wonder why would anyone want to buy K3 III for $2000 when you can get K-1 II from B&H for $1,796. It's currently on sale.

I'll bet the street price will come down 20-30% in short order!! Yes, I would keep my orininal K-3 and pickup a K1 also. On the other hand if the K-1 is on SALE, then it might next for another upgrade....

The lack of an articulated back screen is a disappointment. SImilarly the lack of a VF on the Pentax MILC, K-01 stops me. For my next attack of G.A.S. a used K-5iis. I have as you can see, K-100, K-20, K-5, K-3.
