Nice early Spring weather-62 F lite breeze-good for working in the yard and photographing some of our local critters.
The Spotted Towhee is the only one that'll come out for photography!
Tried a bright white background shot when the Junco landed 15 feet from me while I was digging out some weeds.
That moth ID is troubling. One ID I found suggests a Western White Moth? Not sure-he was tough to capture though!
A couple more Varied Thrush shots showing the sexual dimorphism in this species.
That Stellar's Jay just hung around, chasing squirrels and screaming! Beautiful birds!
I should take and post a few shots of my filthy cameras! D500, 500pF, 1/500 to 1/3200, f 5.6 to f 8, ISO 320 to 5000, no EC or filters. Not always possible to keep the gear clean when the focus is on gardening!
Downloads are where it's at!
Enjoy!

Thanx for the kind words and for viewing! I have my work cut out for me researching that moth/butterfly!

Been there, done that, bugs & birds! Worst case, someone here will know!
These are wonderful shots. So sharp and clear. As for your little white winged friend, I did some looking but came up with nothing. He made a beautiful photo though!
It is as if you lived in an aviary, Tim! Beautiful set.
Awesome, Tim. The launching Thrush is my favorite.

Yes he is beautiful! More color detail if I can get closer...
Thanx for viewing!

At times it Is like a zoo or something. Just looked out and saw-no camera handy- a Stellar’s Jay, a Varied Thrush, a Mourning Dove, an American Robin, about 12 Dark-eyed Juncos, and two Song Sparrows in about a two square yard area!
Thanx for viewing!

Thanx! I really liked the shot too!
Splendid shots of some birds that I have never seen (except the Junco). You are fortunate to have a space that attracts these colorful visitors.
