It seems to me that the overall quality of photography posted on UHH these days has improved. If you just look at "Newest Pictures" you get a quick sampling of what is being posted and I am impressed.

The atmosphere here is good also. Most are friendly, anxious to help, and non-judgmental, whatever the problem. I also feel that the learning opportunities have increased as people openly share their ideas and methods.

Congratulations are due for one and all!

Please feel free to share your own observations. It is good for everyone to know they are appreciated.

I agree. Some old-timers are thinking of leaving due to "boredom". I find the site to be fun and rewarding. I hope they reconsider.

I greatly enjoy my time here. Each day I find something inspiring taken in ways that encourage me to grab my camera. There's also a wealth of educational information that is shared here. Each member is a specialist in something with their lifetime of experiences in their chosen field.

I learn by reading posts regarding questions and those truly have helped me better understand my gear and techniques. It is true that we learn from others and that we cannot live long enough to experience it all ourselves.

There are many choices of photography forums and of the ones that I patronize the UHH is hands-down my favorite due to all those here that are willing to share.

I agree on the quality of the images. Seems like as the cameras get better, so do the images. Another "old-tmer" and I were discussing this just yesterday. There's always been a propensity to help, even by a lot of folks who don't.

You get out of it what you put into it.

I find a lot of inspirational images that get me thinking and I also like to study the composition of images that I find interesting.

I know there are always some who donโ€™t rise to the occasion, but all in all, this is a good place and we should all work to make it a place of support and friendship.๐Ÿ˜Š

You are so right! Sometimes what you get back is even more than what you put in but you have to participate.๐Ÿ˜Š

Do you think that applies to Curmudgeon? That man believes in ghosts, you know.

Seriously, I agree with what you have posted. Also, I believe in the Keebler Elves and often use their 'Elfin Magic' when editing.

Hey! Whoโ€™s got an issue with ghosts. Not me. As for the Keebler Elves, they are superstars!

Are there any theories to explore?

Are advanced techniques being widely shared that advance the skills of all?

Are advanced (even basic) editing techniques, tools and methods being widely shared and used, advancing the results of all?

Is it the shoes?

Have simply better photographers joined the site?

Are people taking more images, in a digital world, increasing the odds of something better in a sequence that just a single try?

Beyond the shoes, are IS / VR / IBIS technologies becoming wide spread to the extent it's hard to create a blurring image?

Are more people willing to shoot on auto?

Are people more confident in using the Pro-mode or the other semi-auto modes on the camera?

Or perhaps more people are learning how to post-process their images more effectively.
