Interested in your experience--pros and cons?
Have been using a trial version for a few days and superficially seems pretty good.
Would you recommend monthly subscription or Purchasing License. Why?
Are you aware of a tech support phone #?
Thanks

I use it, have done so for a few years. I only know how to submit a ticket via their internal mail routine. If there is a phone number I don't know it.

I have stuck with the non-subscription model because if you use the subscription and stop then you lose the program. If you buy it then you have the executable on your computer. Of course, you could buy it for a year then subscribe and "hide" the executable so that you would have it as long as it worked.

Obviously, I would recommend it or I wouldn't keep spending the $$ on it. If you have any more narrowly focused questions I'd be happy to respond either here or in a PM. Many other Hoggers have it, too.

Thanks and good to know. Don't know how to PM? So couple other questions...
If purchase license, I wonder if it can be used on desktop AND laptop? What about if you use subscription?
If purchase license I assume I must pay for any upgrades...any idea of fees?
C1 offers features found only in APERTURE and is far more advanced--I will become a user...
Thanks again,

I switched to C1 in 2012. I use it daily and have no regrets. I buy the license. When the new version and upgrade are announced I pay up with a smile. New upgrade is about once a year and runs in the range of $140.00. I'd call it cheap at twice the price and I love it. I load my single license on both my desktop and laptop.

I switched from Lightroom back in 2016. I've always shot Sony digital cameras and in late 2016 I switched to the Sony version. It took a bit to get used to the differences from Lightroom, but a little diligence and a few tips from Martin Bailey Photography (he does podcasts and he switched himself back in 2016 or so) made the difference. Now when I go back to lightroom it feels odd and I'm far less efficient.

To PM, click on the poster's name, follow it from there.

The answers to your questions about pricing and how many computers, etc. are probably on their website or it would be a good time to ask them and see how well they respond to your question.

I only wish that my Sony-only version would also do my pics from my iPhone.

I was thinking of purchasing Capture One, but couldn't work out which version was suitable for my use. For example, should I purchase the full version? For example, it seemed that if I purchased only one part of it and wanted to use the more advanced featured that I would then have to purchase them separately. I couldn't make my mind up and I didn't bother. I wanted to change from Lightroom 5 as I didn't want to purchase a Licence. OK, I know that others would say that eventually the costs will be the same and I will get constant updates for Lightroom. Pros and cons. I can't get my brains around Photoshop.

Anyone has any advice to pass on?

Heard about C1, but don’t know it, does it replace both Lightroom and Photoshop.

LR, yes, Photoshop no. The C1 folks would agree with that as evidenced by their remarks in their webinars from time to time.

Hi I just started using got the subscription in case I don't like it ... I find Photoshop raw conversion it better at highlight and shadow control and color reproduction is more accurate but Capture has more bells and whistles and like Lightroom has a way of cataloging your files it is a nice program I like it but when I get a photo that I need to pull out the detail in the highlights and shadows on a very high contrast photo I end up going to ACR

Wait until you are more comfortable using Capture One.

The consensus among those who have used both is that it’s better than ACR.

I was thinking of purchasing Capture One, but coul... (show quote)

There are not 'different' versions of CP1. You can purchase the 'full subscription' that will allow you to work with different cameras (manufacturers) or purchase the version that only allows you to work with one manufacturer. I used to have the full version, but when they came out with Nikon only-- for less at that time; I did the Nikon only. There are no differences in the capabilities/features between the 'full' version and the camera specific.
