Sorry to say these are not from my garden. These are from one of my favorite hang outs, Debary Nursery! They very graciously allow me to shoot to my hearts content.

These are beautiful, Carol. I'm especially interested in the red. I find red hard to do - to get it bright, brilliant, even, without it being oversaturated and coming out like a red blob with little to no detail. Your red flower is beautiful with lots of detail. May I ask how you did it?

Thank you. I noticed that. I wonder if it is a blossom that is on its way out.

Joe, I have to admit, working on flower pictures does bring me joy. I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Thank you very much. I'm not sure how to explain the red. I usually slightly underexpose. I have my exposure mode set to meter for highlights and I usually have to add some light to pictures in PP. I just play with the various adjustments being careful not to do anything that messes it up. These were all shot with the Z50 and processed with Affinity and Topaz Sharpen AI. In this particular red flower I really love the texture of the petals. I think that help, too.

A beautiful set. Love flower pix, my thing as well. That is great they let you photograph their stock. I sometimes would go to a nursery, Mount Fuji in Upland, CA to photograph their plants and flowers. Only problem it was usually windy there and harder to get a good image than indoors at home. My favorite places were the Arboretum in Arcadia, CA and Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA. Both less windy and have indoor orchid houses! Now that I've moved I have to find new places for flowers. I might have to buy flowers and bring them home to shoot.

Wow Carol! No wonder you like to hang out at the nursery and it’s easy to understand why they enjoy having you photographing their flowers...I think that’s called a “Win Win”! I like em all...thanks for sharing

A lovely and colorful set Carol. I look forward to springtime each and every year. I do have one question for you that I hope you won't mind answering. When I download your images here on UHH I get a smaller image than the original thumbnail when my expectation is to get a larger more detailed version. Is that your intent? If so, how come?
