Quite a dog-walker she has there. If that little dog accidentally gets under one of those sneakers, it'll be like gum on the sidewalk.

Dude; the bid guy with the little dog is the celeb, the buff gal is the body guard.

I think its a statement accessory. Not the dog, the bodyguard.
What a life, I'd sooner go where I want on my own.
In Jason's case who's protecting who? And why do bodyguards always seem to dress like "Men in Black?" So they aren't conspicuous? They might as well hang a sign around their neck that says, "Hired Thug."

What struck me most was the obscene amount of money these people have compared to people who actually do some good for society like teachers, fire fighters, police, EMT's, etc.

The bodyguards? They are paid by well-to-do celebrities with cash to burn. Teachers are paid by citizens by way of taxes, which are distributed by politicians who are influenced by well-to-do special interests. Make your voice and objections heard loud and clear by your elected officials that teachers deserve better pay.

It's not how much the bodyguards are paid; it's how much the celebrities are paid.

They are paid according to their value for revenue production by the production companies. If they didn't produce the revenue stream expected by the producers, they would soon be paid less or discarded altogether. Same goes for sports figures and other high profile entertainment figures.

Yes, I know that, but is Lady Gaga's contribution to the collective good worth that much more than that of a firefighter's risking his life to rescue people from harm? That's only one small example. Apparently, money talks so loudly that no other voice can be heard.
In the 80's while still in the corps and stationed at El Toro, another marine came to me and asked me to make him a shoulder holster for his personal weapon.
I was just getting into Leather crafting at the time and did not consider myself very good, but he was willing to take the chance on me.
This marine would have made 2 of me at that time. The Holster was not a problem, it was the harness that was the issue. And to make matters he wanted it adjustable. We came to an agreement on price and I made it for him. I don't remember what I charged him, but I am sure it was not enough.
I found out later the reason he wanted a custom shoulder holster was that he was doing off duty body guard work for various celebrities. He was killed working for his final employer which I heard was a rapper.
I don't know how long he used that particular shoulder holster.
