Things come and go, some linger for a long time or return to haunt us and others are just a blink.

The use of AI for photography. Its happening with the Super Resolution, systems such as the Olympus 1 are being reconsidered to tether to cell phones that could be a complete game changer, the entire idea of resolution may become obsolete as could the need for good glass. The day could come when asking about a modern camera's resolution would be like asking what kind of hay a Tesla uses...nonsensical. AI could literally fill in the blanks and get ultra high resolution photos. The whole mirrorless/DSLR thing is also going to go away...it could be heads-up AI displays so that the photographer can decide what photos to take from there. Still photos may be going away...think Oly's Pro Capture system or Apple Photos that move a little bit so the user can pick just the right capture as a still.
There will be the usual guy who wants to argue that he started in the film days, (as did I), and that their DSLR is just fine...so was mine...but the film guys now using the DSLR or mirrorless do not live forever. Newer generations of photographers will know nothing of (or care about) that generation of photography. Ask the average GenX person to read a map or even know the telephone numbers of his/her friends...won't happen. Tech is replacing that knowledge with other knowledge. It will happen just as it happened to us. How many of us know the right powder charge for some old fashioned flash from 100 years ago?

You left out:
What lens should I take on my trip to ___________?
What camera should I buy?
Where can I get support for my 20 yr old software to get it to run on my brand new computer?
Mirrorless vs DSLR?
Backup drives?
TVs for photo editing
Color profiling - aka my prints are too dark?
Using teleconverters on non-tele lenses?
And so on . . .
Using a camera to actually take pictures . . .
" How many of us know the right powder charge for some old fashioned flash from 100 years ago?", I still use 15 grams for an individuals, 30 grams for a group and 50 grams for full interior shots. Works for me.
The 'next thing' to look forward to????
Taking pictures without masks!!! And other people safely not wearing masks in your photos.

I watched an AI Coloring of old photos on YouTube this morning as I sipped my first cup. I am conflicted as to it is a good thing... B&W has, even with today's photos, a way of simplistic storytelling.
Since all news now is "Breaking News"... perhaps we will have "Breaking Photos."

The Al stuff is the new gizmo of the future for sure. Not sure if it is good or bad but all technology progress is good because you have a choice to use it or not.

Haha.
If AI does the photo, it's not yours.
Your individual volitions regarding editing that make you you have just been replaced.
Welcome to the future.

That is one way to look at it for sure. My preference is to take photos and edit as little as possible. Others choose different. No matter how I feel or you feel about al it is here and is not going away. The issue I have is for the competition and professional areas. Will they be forced to use it by default to remain competitive

So individual volition goes away.
The computer will tell you what is good,
And everyone will like it.
So who's really winning the "photo contest"?
The photographer or the computer.

All decisions will be made by HAL, so all photos will belong to HAL!
You will try to make HAL believe it is your image, to no avail!
Dave already tried.
