Yup. I have location ON for my phone images.
So many places in Acadia look alike.
I also use Followmee on the phone so I can time-tag the LAT-LON locations for my DSLR/bridge cameras when hiking an area. My other cameras don't have location capability.
I can then look at the location data and find exactly on Google Maps where I was when shots were taken.

It's useful to have metadata that includes location but you just have to remember to strip it off if you publish(share) the photo.
