Bottom line, like any other news/rumor source, if we look hard enough, there’s one that supports our beliefs. 🧐🥳🤓
As a Nikon devotee, I try to not let the rumors cause me any dismay. I've got enough equipment to do me no matter what happens. I'm betting on Nikon continuing just fine!
Nikon will have a D6 mirrorless this year and a D850 mirrorless. I can and will wait
I'm with Carol. I think Nikon will be fine. If not, I have what I really need.

I feel the same way about Canon! I have a couple of cameras and a whole bunch of lens so unless I start dropping things, at 90, I'm set for life. I've started giving stuff to a friend of mine who is mid-30s. I told him that a lifetime guarantee means somewhat more to him than it does to me! :-) Harry
Thanks, I get so tired of the Sony Fan Boys and Nikon haters. I've been with Nikon since '67, and have never been disappointed. Still have most of the cameras and lenses both film and digital. Newest camera, probably the D810. Because of my equipment inventory, I won't be going Z under any circumstances, but it isn't out of the question that I buy another Nikon DSLR. I have other brand (not Sony) mirrorless cameras. They have individual strengths and weaknesses as well, but can't do anything better that the DSLRs except be smaller.
I have been using Nikon cameras and lenses for over 55 years. No complaints.
I know nothing about BCN, what they do or who they represent. The mirrorless with more sales in Japan happens to be the Olympus OM-10 Mk III, not Sony. I know Sony is doing well with sales but I am perfectly happy with Olympus.
Nikon and Canon arrived late with their mirrorless cameras, I would say about 5 years late but they are doing very well with their mirrorless bodies and improving with the new ones.

I solved my issues by having both Nikon and Sony (and a bit of Fuji, Canon, etc). No complaints, no regrets.
I think I’m going to hang in with the dslr cameras also. Not into video.
