Parts of the Russian economy, like the business model of Google, are largely based on piracy.

Yeah, they "published" my photo, without notice or permission from the model or myself!

How did you discover the theft of your image ?

A friend recognized the photo in spam, and gave me the link to the web page.

Some buggers around for sure...I had one of my bird pics stolen off a web site I posted it on and it won Nature Photo Of The Month in England...I just happened to see it on Wikipedia...I contacted them and it was removed in about 5 seconds flat.
But still the thief got the award for it claiming it as his own...

You should have found out where the person won the photo of the month and then come on here and ask the UK members for the whereabouts of the club. We would have looked up the club's name and given you the details to contact the club and expose the dishonest person. Doesn't it make you sick?

"...Sleazy Russian pirates steal my photo..." Los-Angeles-Shooter before you spew hate speech on a public forum I would suggest you validate your claims... First this article you've linked to is from Bulgaria NOT Russia...

"...Parts of the Russian economy, like the business model of Google, are largely based on piracy..." Los-Angeles-Shooter you are spending WAY too much time in The Attic, likely the most biased portal on UHH and an endless source of hate rhetoric... Please confine your diatribe to The Attic where it belongs...

FYI: Bulgaria transitioned in 1990's into a democracy and a market-based economy, since adopting a democratic constitution in 1991, Bulgaria has been a unitary parliamentary republic composed of 28 provinces, with a high degree of political, administrative, and economic centralization.

Bulgaria is a member of the European Union, NATO, and the Council of Europe; it is a founding state of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and has taken a seat on the United Nations Security Council three times. Its market economy is part of the European Single Market and is largely based on services, followed by industry—especially machine building and mining—and agriculture. Bulgaria is a developing country with an upper-middle-income economy and very high Human Development Index.

Los-Angeles-Shooter I personally have a very deep respect of Russian preforming artist... Having collaborated with numerous Russian ballerinas over the years... They are at the zenith of the art... and ballerinas for all over the world come to Russia to study at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy... It is a brilliant star which shines wonderfully and has trained the lion's share of the worlds greatest ballerinas...

Bottom Line? Please leave your political rhetoric in The Attic where it belongs...
I trust that Admin will move this Post to The Attic...

That said, while I don't accept your world view I will defend your right to espouse it so long as it's base on valid, corroborated information.

Trust that this makes sense... Wishing you well on your journey Los-Angeles-Shooter
