Looks like a pine Siskin. We have a bunch of them hanging around with goldfinches. Also could be a female house finch.

It's not a Pine-siskin, they are small , with a tiny beak and yellow on wings. By the beak and coloring, I think it's probably a house finch. My Merlin app came up with Red-wing black bird....but I don't agree.

Song Sparrow or Fox Sparrow would be my guess.

The patch behind the eye as opposed to a line suggests a fox sparrow (female)

Yes, tis a Purple Finch (female). The female House Finch is almost identical except the Purple has a well marked whitish line above its eye (eyebrow). This marking is missing for the most part on the House.

It is indeed a Purple Finch (female). The white line above and behind the eye means it is not a House Finch.
