I like to put protective plastic/vinyl on various LCDs. I just ordered a pack of that covering material for an iPad Air 2. It costs just $6.99 for enough to cover an iPad, so it should be able to protect a lot of camera LCDs and cell phones. A few years ago, they were selling a similar set for $5.00, but the price rose quickly.

The underside has an adhesive. When the protective cover is removed, dust my attach. When you remove one from an LCD screen dust can attach. So your screen wlill end up with the dust.

I too, place the protective covers on my screens. The only time you would need to remove them is to replace them due to damage. Then you would clean the screen before placing the new one on it. Lately, I have been using the thin hardened thin glass versions. So much nicer. On the one occasion that one was damaged, the seller replaced it free.

From my experience, those "used" items on Amazon are new and unused. People are selling them because they changed their minds and waited too long to return them. I've never bought one because adding the shipping charge raises the price to the new level.
