since high school days and decided we would marry. So, Bill had a talk with my dad and told him he'd like to marry
his daughter! My dad responded with..." Over my Dead Body''! Quietly, Bill came back with..."If that's how it has to Be!" My dad was dumb founded ...and no more was said ! We were married 10/12/1963-All Happy! This story was a family joke for years ever after!!

Good challenge, Judy. Sorry I missed it. We've been dealing with power outages during this cold snap down here. Power company claiming that they are controlling it with rolling outages. Seemed like they rolled way too often into our neighborhood. Loved all the stories, and of course I've got one but I'll save it for another time.

Love Story Part 2
We met and married....My mother made my gown and head piece: embroidered daisies (my favorite flower) dotted the dress and train. Dad and I were driven the 30 minutes to the church by a long time family friend. The whole distance, Dad reminded me that I didn't have to go through with this. "You can still back out". I had no intention of doing that, didn't want to, and am so glad I didn't listen. As the years passed, my Dad began to depend on Jim for a lot of things even though we were hundreds of miles apart. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Sorry My reply is a bit late to address each message personally.
Life is not all fun and games but it sure is a blessing when we got something that can balance the darkness.
Give love freely is all I can say. Some will run away, some will only take but those who will make it grow and give it back, we keep in our memories and our hearts.
Thanks everyone.

Very touching, Wallen. Thank you for sharing. Sometimes the demands for every day get us off track for sure!
It's good for everyone to take some time for reassment and adjust our goals for the good! God bless!
Well, I sat down and started writing how I got involved in Springer Spaniel breeding...it would have been a
BOOK! So to make good on my promise(sort of) I'll cut it down to short and quick...Always had dogs as a child
several which have sentimental favorite memories....A childhood friend got a springer for her birthday whom I fell in love with and made a promise that I'd have one when I grew up! Bought my first Springer as an adult with 3 children and a husband that called Raisen -reject-as a joke...The kids really loved him and so did we! He had no papers so we never bred him. Made another promise that the next dog would have papers and we'd try breeding
once I could learn all the AKC stuff to do it right! Got pro lessons from a AKC aficionado, Bob Proctor, who helped me through all the ups and downs! I've been successful because of his generosity and patience. He has since passed but will always hold a special spot in my heart...
