To tell the whole story would take too long. I met my 2nd wife (Karen) at church in Denver, CO while I was at Lowry AFB for 4 months of advanced schooling in July 1972. The 1st Sunday I was there I attended University Hills Baptist Church. The gentleman who greeted me, showed me to the singles class. The last seat in the room was next to a cute young lady with frosted brunette hair & octagonal glasses. Fast forward to Thanksgiving 1972. I stopped in Denver to see friends on my way to Udorn, Thailand and attended church with them that Sunday. Karen, who was a 2nd LT in the Air Force told me she had orders to Goose Bay, Labrador reporting in March 1973. She gave me her address & asked if I would send her some jewelry which could be purchase CHEAP in Southeast Asia. Forty-three letters later, the last letter I wrote her before I left Thailand, I asked her to marry me. I called her when I stopped in Denver and she said yes. Our 1st kiss was a week before we were married. We celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary last August.

Judy you asked for it...LOL...hang on.

We met while on middie cruise* in Québec. Well I spoke no French and she spoke only a tiny bit of school-learned English and with letters and occasional visits on leave we finally got married. Ha, at the wedding the priest told me to say ''Oui je le veut'' (''Yes want it'')**. I was on leave and we went back to the U.S. Upon my discharge we returned here to Québec.

Exciting life? We have cycletoured three times from here to Stratford, CT. For our 25th we cycletoured for a month in France, Belgium & Holland. We have visited ten countries and our love has now reached 60 years

*You Navy guys know these.

**Years later I asked the priest here if i could cancel the marriage because I did not know what I was saying LOL

My dad was a real piece of work!! He worked his whole life for the NewYork , New Haven railroad as a "load dispature" (electricity director). Loved his Rum Cokes and his antique violin ! Made sure that both my sister and I
got an education beyond high school!

I met my husband David at a friend's apartment. My fiend's date that night brought along his friend, David. At the end of the evening I told my friend that for some reason I thought that David would end up being an important person in my life. I was right! we met in 1962 and we married in June 66. during "the in between" years we encountered each other again and established a movie date for every Friday night during 1963. I was a bit of a wanderer and did not have a very stable home life. My parents had divorced and I somehow was on my own trying to figure out what to do with my life. I moved around a bit and so did David. He had become a teacher and so had I. We both moved around the country a bit and met each other often. In Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver , British Columbia. and in the mountains near Banff. We married in Vancouver in 1966 where David was attending university and I was working in a photography studio. After we married we then moved to a small prairie town in Alberta and taught in the same school. His class room was across the hall from mine. During the years we often taught in the same school.
We have had many good years together. We have three adult children and five grandchildren!

Great love story. I've always found it amazing how we can meet someone once and just know they are going to be part of our life.

About a week after we met I walked over to His Mothers Place where Verlin was there to take care of Her, it was in the evening and I tossed a few Pebbles at His Window to get his attention when He came to the window, I asked " Can you come out and play?"

I don't know what I'd do without this Man in my life..

Love the stories. I'll do ours before challenge is up. But this is a different kind of love story. You know and feel "connections" and others can see it. Our youngest grandson, Isaiah, and Jim, my husband, have been best buds since the day Isaiah was born. Isaiah had a double whammy - a stroke before birth and cognitive disabilities. He has always responded to Jim, if "P" eats something, so will Isaiah, if Jim has a birthday, Isaiah helps open presents and blows out candles. He needs to sit next to Jim wherever we are (dinner table, a restaurant) and is his shadow. He just looks at "P" with adoring eyes. After nap - he crawls next to "P" on the couch and soon both are snoring. Isaiah love to push things and about 4 years ago he made a "push toy" from an old paint striper. Fixed like a piece of John Deere equipment and stuck a toy ground hog in where the paint can would be - the groundhog bobs up and down - it's a toy he still plays with and is an all time favorite. The pandemic has been hard as we haven't seen them often at all. A week ago they came for Sunday dinner and as Isaiah came up the walk and saw us, he started crying (he is 11). His words are few but the tears seemed to mean he really missed us - and he stuck to "P" for the afternoon.
