John and I were married May 7 1993. It was my 2nd marriage + 11 years with someone else.. and John's 3rd marriage! We made a promise that we had to stay married for at least 40 years! Now, knowing the history....it looked like a tough up hill battle! LOL! Well in May it will be 28 years and we keep reminding each other that we have at least 12 years of a commitment! LOL! One thing we did from the start...was that no matter what the ups and downs were we always said "I love you" before going to sleep "3rd time is a charm"...

Wonderful Story Sharon You and John make a lovely couple..pg. 2
We met while on middie cruise* in Québec. Well I spoke no French and she spoke only a tiny bit of school-learned English and with letters and occasional visits on leave we finally got married. Ha, at the wedding the priest told me to say ''Oui je le veut'' (''Yes want it'')**. I was on leave and we went back to the U.S. Upon my discharge we returned here to Québec.
Exciting life? We have cycletoured three times from here to Stratford, CT. For our 25th we cycletoured for a month in France, Belgium & Holland. We have visited ten countries and our love has now reached 60 years
*You Navy guys know these.
**Years later I asked the priest here if i could cancel the marriage because I did not know what I was saying LOL

I met my husband David at a friend's apartment. My fiend's date that night brought along his friend, David. At the end of the evening I told my friend that for some reason I thought that David would end up being an important person in my life. I was right! we met in 1962 and we married in June 66. during "the in between" years we encountered each other again and established a movie date for every Friday night during 1963. I was a bit of a wanderer and did not have a very stable home life. My parents had divorced and I somehow was on my own trying to figure out what to do with my life. I moved around a bit and so did David. He had become a teacher and so had I. We both moved around the country a bit and met each other often. In Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver , British Columbia. and in the mountains near Banff. We married in Vancouver in 1966 where David was attending university and I was working in a photography studio. After we married we then moved to a small prairie town in Alberta and taught in the same school. His class room was across the hall from mine. During the years we often taught in the same school. We have had many good years together. We have three adult children and five grandchildren!

Verlin and I met in Desert Shores, Ca. about a month after I was abandoned by my Second Husband. He's been there for me ever since then..close to 30 yrs now We've been together .. and Married on our way out to Arkansas on May 20th 1997. we'll hit our 24th anniversary this coming May...I'm His 5th wife and He's my third Husband.."Third times the Charm" is appropriate for me as well..
About a week after we met I walked over to His Mothers Place where Verlin was there to take care of Her, it was in the evening and I tossed a few Pebbles at His Window to get his attention when He came to the window, I asked " Can you come out and play?"
I don't know what I'd do without this Man in my life..

Great story! So I guess it't true that love is the universal language.
OK - not humans, not pets, but this photo of a mom Glossy Ibis with her "chick" always gives me goose bumps and puts a smile on my face. Taken in July, 2017 close to where I live. I call it "The Hug".
Well, here we are-T'is Valentine's Night and we have a new Challenge "Love Stories"...bet you can conger up some photos that help to tell your story! Could be about friends, family, pets, someone you know...The sky is the limit- ONLY...must be family friendly!!
So I'll start with a short disclosure...Here's how it went....It takes place Sept. 1962..Bill and I had been dating since high school days and decided we would marry. So, Bill had a talk with my dad and told him he'd like to marry his daughter! My dad responded with..." Over my Dead Body''! Quietly, Bill came back with..."If that's how it has to Be!" My dad was dumb founded ...and no more was said ! We were married 10/12/1963-All Happy! This story was a family joke for years ever after!!
