I have autocorrect on my phone and Kindles. Unfortunately, autocorrect doesn't usually know what I want to say, and I have to keep going back and correcting the mistakes it makes. With it turned off, typing on devices is much easier. I still get suggested words popping up, and that speeds up typing.
I agree I find it a pain too but sometimes it helps me find spelling I dont know.
