First time I got this message:

My Sony RX100iii has been converted to IR. (Until today, it has been trouble free.)
After several times turning it on and off at different locations with no problem, I consistently got the message “quickly turn camera off and back on.“ Eventually the camera was ready to shoot, but several times I had to repeat the on/off one or two more times. The air temperature was about 42°, so it was not a battery problem, which at first I thought it might be. I put in a different battery and got the same message.
Thoughts? Experiences?
Thanks.

Until you refresh the firmware you can’t even guess at what’s up.

Did it forget something? Leak out?
My Canon is ten years old and hasn't forgotten anything, yet.

I don't have an answer to your problem, unfortunately. It just makes me visualize whoever did the conversion sitting at their workbench thinking: Let's see if I can drive this guy nuts!

Well, it would’ve had a delay mechanism because I have used the camera for more than a year with no problem until yesterday. It would have been a hell of an algorithm, but I do like your attitude.

Who did the IR conversion? My Canon was converted by LifePixel. Their CS has been excellent whenever I contacted them with an issue of general question. Believe me, I’ve had a bunch! 🥴

I don’t think it has anything to do with the IR conversion. This happens frequently with Sony cameras. I have an RX10M4 and it happens regularly. I tried both types of resets and still have the problem. It seems to result from internal conflict from changing settings. There is info re this problem online. If you find a solution, I am very interested.

I have both the iii and the vi. This was a first for either. So far today, no problem.
