I totally agree!
I find that I now have the time to devote to the things that I have been "meaning to get to".

It had the opposite effect on me. Because outdoors was safer than indoors, I took many many more walks and hikes than usual. I set my camera on a tripod and took hundreds (thousands?) of photos of birds coming to the feeder. I took a course online through my camera club on macro photography. I’m not much of an event photographer but I have so many picture folders I haven’t started to cull or process. All in all, it was a productive year, photographically speaking.

It has cause me to have about 80% decrease compared to a year ago.
Many events that i would attend are no more.
My travel plans have be reduced to 0%.
My airbnb guest has been reduced to 0%.
Overall it has been a bummer.

Good deal less. Main "volume" of shots were air shows and family events. Recently retired and had gotten a business license to help increase my chances of press passes at airshows as an independent photographer. On the up side, more time to learn, mainly from this forum, and experiment in the house and yard. Even tried some of the conjunction shots, although not really equipped properly. Watching the challengers here and will likely get into that. Health and ability to pay our bills have my wife and I in a much better position than many. VERY thankful for that.
Stay safe and look to enjoy each day for opportunities it may bring....

It has done absolutely nothing negative to my photography. I don't usually go anywhere crowded and when I go out I wear a mask while still avoiding people.

Travel and other organized outings dried up. However, I started carrying a compact on all bike rides and assigned myself themes. A small bag is attached to the handlebars and held either a Canon G16, G1x iii, S100 IR, or SX60. My count actually went up, but fewer for each event. Probably got annoying for accompanied rides due to my surprise stops.

It's tough Philo....I have been "practicing" my hobby at home, around my yard, around the woods on and near my property, and some short drives to wild areas...trying things I've meant to but hadn't:
Cconverted an old Minolta bellows/rack assembly (SR-MD/MC mount) via DIY, now has a old Nikon 100mm F2.8 E in front and an E-mount (also Nikon and Sony A-mount body adapters) and mounted a cheap ring light to it, works like a champ! I can mount any body I have, and can change the lens out to try others (but I think the Nikon 100 finally has a forever home, rather than sitting on the shelf waiting for a chance to "do work".....
Wander all around my homesite looking for lighting/shadow challenges, odd shots I've meant to try, flowers/insect/songbirds/raptors/raccoons/squirrels, still life challenges. Wonder thru the woods.
Fool constantly with differewnt lens and camera body combination & concoctions (I'm better equiped than many for this, do to large assortment of old gear/mid-life gear and newer stuff) including trying some strange combos.
Just (in general) I take an hour or 3 each day and do camera stuff, shoot whatever I find, do some reviews and processing challenges....look for the most difficult scenarios and try to make worthy shots, even if the subject matter is inane - I figure the experience and keeping myself acquainted with my different camera bodies/systems will make me better when I am out in public shooting.
Go to the places less traveled - down old dirt roads, out to the canals/creeks/waterholes/parks (many parks have few visitors these days, so no issues there).
Recently spent a number of sessions working on my version of old school photography, doing some purposeful SOOC shots....not PP finished product, but straigh SOOC - that has been interesting, and has shown me how much I do remember from the film days.

Of course, there are also many other chores/repairs/challenges around here, that never changes, except for no lawn mowing (well, very seldom) in winter time - hooray!!
I feel for anyone whose income stream has been impacted, those who can't visit family, etc...
Hang in there, make the best out of it, and "Keep on keeping on"!!

Being 71 years old, I think of it as OK to be shooting less. The alternative would be to take a greater risk of catching COVID-19. That would change my odds of future photography to be similar to loading a five chamber revolver with four bullets, spinning it, and playing Russian roulette. Based on that, I think I will take the loss of time graciously even as annoying the loss of photo time is.

Believe it or not- I still do photography for a living so if I don't shoot I don't eat (well- eat as much, as well, or as often - Plus I gotta pay the rent the shop, etc. There are 2 of us at home, 2 staff at the shop, and a cat to feed.

I have been fortunate. Even during that past and current lockdown the construction industry still working and 3 of my clients are planning annual reports, trade show displays (post-Covid hopefully) so I have 3 assignments on the go. Also, thank goodness, someof my regular commercial clients have shifted to heavy online sales and need all kinds of photography for their E-business websites. The construction stuff is all out-of-doores and the others can just ship the merchandise to my studio.

Weddings and portraits NADA!

Marijuana is now legal in Canada, so next week I have a shoot at an industrial size grow-op! That's gonna be fun! Gotta wear a hazmat suit to go in there! Wall to wall pot for medical use! No- I don't smoke!

On days off- that's the problem. Right now all the non-essential retail stores and malls are closed- can't go to the camera store! The gym is shut down- working it in the living room, Can't go to the movies. It's Winter- I can't work in the garden. So... my lovely wife and I have gone on an anti-procrastination crusade- all the stuff in the house and the studio that we were putting off, neglecting, didn't wanna do. I cleaned up and finally organized my workshop- power tools, screwdrivers, pliers, and junk- what an unmitigated MESS! 35 file drawers filled with old negatives and transparencies! Digitize them?- Nah- that would exceed our life expectancy- so we just purged the discards. We finally cleaned out from behind the refrigerator and removed the new lifeforms that were festering in there. The room that used to house the darkroom is full of stuff- it looks like the Black Hole of Calcutta.

Up here the vaccination program is moving lie molasses in the Winter and we got some long and cold winters up here in Canada. It looks like business, life and photography won't normalize 'till 2022. Just trying to make the best of the down-time.

Could be worse- the guy who lives 2 houses down the street makes tombstones- he doesn't like that term- he calls them "monuments". Sadly, his business has doubled with Covid. I asked him to design one for me- I like Old English fonts- how about " Ed Shapiro (1944- ain't dead yet)" I can keep it on my front lawn! My wife thinks I am suffering from cabin fever and have developed a morbid sense of humour.

Listen y'all- stay safe and well, stay home, mask up, get the shot ASAP!

I was very fortunate to be introduced to a Facebook group called "Create 52" which gives you a theme a week. Some people shoot the theme more literally, while others get very creative. I found photo ops right around my apartment complex I'd have never dreamed of without the inspiration of these weekly themes.

Here is the 2021 list, if anyone is curious, and two of my favorites from 2020: refraction and "what's in your kitchen"

Ditto, Linda...improvise (you probably learned that in the Navy)!!! Didn't really influence my wife and I very much but we're very fortunate to have many wildlife areas that are available here in Central Florida!

Unfortunately this pandemic has come to modify our lives. I am not as active photographically speaking as I have been in the past. Many times I am so bored that I use my cameras to practice and photograph the neighborhood. It is winter in Florida, not as many flowers as in spring so going to our garden has not been so productive.

I spend the days reading and on occasion I just photograph around our neighborhood. Hopefully better times are ahead.

We've been blessed in our State and local community. Our town has been fairly normal although there was a time that the local restaurants were carryout only and that time has passed. All stores are open and all businesses have been open for quite some time. Schools and churches are also open. Masks are required to enter them all.

The local Walmart has a occupancy limit although I have yet to be refused entry and they do have someone counting those that go in and out.

I stage a photo session or more nearly everyday in my basement "studio" where I do tabletop macro/micro photography so not much has changed in my daily routine or needs here. I'm sure that a vast number of others are not so fortunate.
