Another job I do not want! Some men were working on a cell tower today. I could not pass up on the photo opportunity. My camera was a Sony RX-10 M3 on a cloudy day with some sprinkles and mist.

Thinking OSHA might have an issue with the footwork in that last picture.

I had a friend who was a window washer on very very high buildings in NYC . He told me the trick is to look straight ahead at the work you are doing and to not look downward.

You should see images of Chines workers cleaning by hand high voltage wires hundreds of feet in the air secured by a simple harness. When I saw the images, my stomach made several somersaults.

I always thought the assembly work was done at ground level, the mast positioned afterwards. Equipment connections made afterwards in the associated nearby cabin / cabinet.

Nice shots. I use to be pretty comfortable with working at heights. I don't think I would be any more. I don't like high voltage electricity either. I don't know if the cell towers use it but, The cables hanging there make me think of it.

Nice captures, Bill. One would have to be of strong body and mind for that job.

When I was a child I remember when a "lineman" would strap his spikes to his calves and up the (wooden) pole he would go I thought those spikes were the keys to a whole new world. They were just that, BUT you were still anchored to a pole. Then, a few years later, the voice said "cleared for take off" and there was NO pole to anchor me. The higher you go, the higher you get!
