My wife asked me to come look at the pretty bird on the top of our pine tree. I grabbed my D500 and 500mm f5.6 PF lens hurried through the house to get to the deck. I only got off a few shots before it dove off of the opposite side of the tree and flew away. After downloading I noticed it was banded.

What a beautiful falcon. Maybe next time I can get more than the back side.

Enjoy,
Steve

Beautiful creature and your shots do it great justice Perfect balance, too I probably would have lost my balance several times just putting the lens on

Excellent work with this beautiful bird. Your photo may show enough of the band to be useful. Sorry I don't have a link but a quick search for bird band reporting should give you contact info. They can and will work with your great photos. What good fortune to have such a visitor, hope for a return!

Phil,
Thanks for pointing out I can report the sighting. I will check it out, sounds like a good excuse to take more bird photos.
Cheers,
Steve
