Looking out our sliding glass door yesterday I spotted this beauty. Unfortunately I had to shoot through glass since he would fly away if I opened the door.

Despite shooting thru glass, you got nice results. I might have added a little more contrast or saturation in post, but that’s just me. Well done.

I did add contrast - more than I usually add. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Well, they could be cleaner but it's difficult to keep this time of year. Thanks Marg.

Nice shot! Interesting to me is how easily spooked the various hawks are. If I stop my truck along the road, even at a fair distance with a long lens, they either fly when I stop or as I get out of the vehicle. It is a rare one that holds position.

Thanks QD. So far all of the hawks that come to our yard are easily spooked. If I go out the front door and sneak around the back, they see me as soon as I see them and take off. But in parks I can sometimes walk right up to where they are and take as many shots as I want - and my camera is noisy. This has occurred several times - maybe those in parks are more comfortable with humans.

I do believe they become habituated - I know that in a single season, I can usually count on the same raptors, or the same type at least, being in the areas where I've seen them before when I check looking for photos.

Yes, I think so also.
