The New River Gorge in West Virginia was just named the country’s 63rd National Park. This happened with the signing of the emergency COVID-19 stimulus bill.

The creation of the parkis probably a good thing, but part of a covid stimulus bill? Really?

It sounds like you are familiar with this area. I drove over the bridge there a few years ago and snapped a few photos. Apparently there must be much more to explore.

I was happy to hear about a new National Park. I expect some people will have an opinion about how it was created.

Ya Think? Here's one.....I love the NRG and glad its a NP but you can hide anything in these totally ridiculous and debt exploding bills coming out of Washington. They have just become a platform for any pet project a senator or rep want with little or no opposition.

Took a white water raft trip that ended up at the bottom on the New river. Splendid ride and landscape.

If everything in every bill had to be voted on individually congress would be backed up for the next hundred years.

National parks are a good thing IMHO.

"Almost Heaven", especially if you have your camera with you. From Hawk's Nest SP down to The Bridge and on past Grandview and Pipestem. What a feast for a nature lover's eyes.

Exactly correct and it's a shame.

I'm glad we have a new park but I agree it's a bad way to get it.

Now that really makes me feel safer from COVID-19.

Pallosi wouldn't sign off on the first without an agreement for $350 mil for the Kennedy Center. Nothing new in poli tics but, during a world wide pandemic? That money could of purchased a lot meals or paid somebody's rent. I'm sorry but, do we have a say in these matter anymore about where are monies go?

Actually, no. That's the problem that comes in giving someone else the right to decide those things!
