Nope. "I" never would.
I use Carbonite for archival storage.
Two external drives at home for local backup.
I would never use on-line (cloud) storage for working storage.
Besides, "free" can go away real quickly.
I have been using it for a few years.
I upload all my images there , from my memory card. Unlimited storage is great
I have about .60,000 photos currently.

Good point, why have storage at no cost when you can pay for the privilege???
I considered Amazon Prime for photo storage when we got Amazon Prime membership recently. But what about the day when you no longer want to be a Prime member? I decided against it....

The question was put to Amazon. Here's the response. "If you decide to cancel your Amazon Prime membership you'll still be able to access 5GB of photo storage. If your photos exceed this storage quota, you'll be able to log in and download files but you can't upload, sync or share files."
If you don't have a Prime membership you still get 5gb of free storage for you images. So if you cancel you Prime membership you can just download all your images that you have stored for "FREE" until you reach the 5gb cutoff or go under. I think that Amazon Prime unlimited storage is a great deal.

I use it as my secondary cloud back up because I have Amazon Prime. I haven’t even looked at it for awhile but I do remember that the issue that I had with it is that it created duplicates when I backed up multiple devices with the same photos on them. And Amazon also had a limit on the amount of video storage unless you pay extra. But your post has reminded me to check it to make sure my back up is up to date.

That's because they are on different devices. It treated the devices as separate devices (locations).
Doesn't it get confusing having the same photo in multiple places?
Or are you backing up backups.

I use Apple photos and their Icloud for primary cloud back up. So it automatically backs up all photos on my phone, tablet and Mac. It also takes all photos from my phone and tablet and backs them up on the Mac hard drive automatically but does not duplicate because they are all Apple devices and that’s the way Apple ICloud works. And it works great. That’s why Apple ICloud is my primary cloud back up and Amazon secondary.
Edit. Changing it works great to it works pretty well. There are some improvements Apple could make on file organization and some bugs in photo sharing they need to work on.
I have it and it's okay for jpgs I guess. Tortuously slow and hard to keep updated, so I rarely use it.
