Graphics Cards are key to fast Ai post processing. Topaz Ai Sharpening puts a heavy demand on our computers as does Ai in general. Many of us have purchased Luminar Ai which is a "magic" Ai program in general.

Tho I have Luminar Ai, like many I have long been a faithful Topaz person, but Topaz Ai is not the only Ai sharpening program is part of the revolution and is an important part. Many of us have the new Luminar Ai general program and it has sharpening. In searching the subject I have found that there are many Ai sharpening here is a post that has a comparison of 10 Ai sharpening tools: https://skylum.com/blog/image-sharpening

Luminar Ai by Skylum has a defringe feature and an edge contrast built-in. Fringe has been a long-standing plague to post-processing.

In searching I was surprised to find a free from China motion sharpening program[WOW]:

I am so happy I upgraded a few years ago to an NVIDIA graphics card, 1050Ti still available at about $160
It has CUDA programming using Python. I upgrade to a Python Programed card be able to use Google's Deepdreams on my computer... Did I install deep dreams... No, I would welcome help.

Read more about the use of Python for NVIDIA at

The 1050Ti is capable of Ai learning ! ! another WOW surprise for my continuing education:

We are in the midst of a revolution; upgrade your computer and go to mars. Meanwhile, here on earth, Tesla and the self-driving e-cars uses a tool kit which NVIDIA will do and has incorporated as a download:

Photoshop is also using graphics cards more with the newer versions. They have a list of recommended cards and nvidia is often near the top. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html

They say look for ops/sec greater than 2000 on this list https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/directCompute.html

According to the reference article on Windows, a GPU with DirectX 12 support and 2 GB of GPU memory. My 1050Ti tho at the bottom of the speed scale sports 4 gigs of memory, still good for those on a tight budget but for the same price the GTX 1650 with 4 gigs is twice as fast.

GRAPHICS NEEDS W BUDGET: While the 1050Ti is still relevant with 2700 op/sec and meets the 2000+ op/sec in the reference** Looking at the charts on the following link there are better price/performance bargains. As mentioned in the link list of Bleirer's reference the GTX 1650 Super is at the top of the list.*** This card has 4 gigs of memory runs at 4700 ops/sec and is at the $159 price. Remember, for graphics these cards will do nicely, but gaming computers push the limit and need hi-end cards.

HARDWARE DEMANDS FOR Ai: For our Ai programs such as Luminar Ai ..."Artificial Intelligence is not only a smart program that works miracles; in many cases in depends on a physical device that incorporates this program. Like a robot without its body, AI software, to be productive, often needs a shell. In this post, we’ll explore what AI hardware really means."

Without question, our computer requirements are increasing and will increase as our processing programs increase in complexity. We are at a level where the programmers have restrained their work to allow most computers that the users have to function but next year and the year after that fewer old computers will function well with new graphics programs. We have faced that before and Op systems have increased demands, times and demands change:

COMPUTER PARTS EXAMPLE :Here is a good combo that is affordable: Game... Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War | GTX 1650 Super + Ryzen 5 3600 . My new homemade uses an MSI Game Plus and has 32gig of 3200 memory. M-2 C:/ drive. W-10. My NVIDIA 1050Ti has 4 gig of memory and I use "studio" NVIDIA 12/15/20 latest drivers. Runs Ai graphic well.

Graphics Cards are key to fast Ai post processing.... (show quote)

I have one of the Nvidia raytracing cards the RTX 2070 super. I was browsing the nvidia site and came across drivers for my card specific to photography. It had a couple demos of the abilities as far as photo editing goes. I also learned that their final gaming driver updates which they call game ready drivers contains the latest photography driver improvements. I built the computer because I needed a new one and was interested in the graphics and raytracing. I cut gemstones and use raytracing to see how light will react in a new gem design. So to see some of the latest use of raytracing in video I had to buy a video game. Red Dead Redemption two for pc. Omg the graphics in a video game are unbelievable. So realistic as almost believable. So I guess the point of my post is yes Nvidia is on the cutting edge of Al and photography editing. They have a demo of taking an out of focus photo and using Al and the new driver for the RTX cards to put the photo in focus. I hate to say it folks but only our creativity makes us needed. Lol My set up is an i7 9700k 32gb ddr4 3200 2tb nvme.m2 hard drive with 2 more drives for storage. An Rtx 2070super 8gb gpu. The differance between the gtx and rtx cards are raytracing which is the cutting edge. I'm a major geek when it comes to tech. My photography addiction came from cutting gemstones and needing good photos of them. Quite an undertaking in the beginning. Lol. Anyway load the game ready drivers instead of the studio drivers. They contain the final version of the studio drivers. I searched for a bit to figure that out because I didn't want to fill my computer with gamer stuff. Although Red dead does have the most realistic graphics I've ever seen even down to the shadows and light coming in a window or footsteps tracked down a road. Its AMAZING.
