Old pier, neglected while waiting to be replaced thru a grant.

Probably will take quite a time before it's fixed!

[quote=Clicker2014]Wow! Where were these taken?[/quote
I had tagged them before I hit send but for som reason it didn’t go thru. The first us an old textile mill on Sweetwater Creek outside of Atlanta. It was abandoned during the civil war.
The cabin is at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu New Mexico.
The third is beyond dilapidated. It was a house in SW Iceland. In the 1970’s Iceland began to phase out fossil fuels and use just geothermal. There are some areas of SW Iceland where there isn’t any Geothermal activity so they were basically abandoned for housing - and the oil tank.

This is an old house that still stands. Sort of a land mark. Likely the most photographed house in S/W Ontario. I printed this on canvas and it sold at an art show last year.

Even in a broken down property you found beauty. A great image.

the other is the Clemens Mansion in STL after the fire of 2017. The original owner was the uncle of Mark Twain.

Three abandoned houses near Sykesville, MD. Each close to 100 years old. We lived near there 45 years.

Just a month ago, the farm where my grandparents raised their 10 children, was sadly torn down. As a child I made many wonderful memories there. The farm was sold many years ago after my two bachelor uncles passed away. It was never taken care of after that and now the land will be used for growing crops.

Great set Sharon..So sad to see things like this just waste away un-cared for.

I believe this first building had been a shed close by the house in the second picture, probably both gone by now. I think I took these pictures sometime in the 1970’s.

Here are a couple for the challenge with a question, too. Several dilapidated buildings near me are slated for demolition. I’d like to photograph them before that happens. I understand there might be reluctance on the part of the owners to grant permission for liability reasons and wonder if there are any suggested approaches.

Wonderful captures Marg..pg. 2
