Here are a couple for the challenge with a question, too. Several dilapidated buildings near me are slated for demolition. I’d like to photograph them before that happens. I understand there might be reluctance on the part of the owners to grant permission for liability reasons and wonder if there are any suggested approaches.

I would suggest that you speak to them and reassure them that you will not enter the buildings. Let they know you like to take pics of the older buildings. I think that if you approach them a good conversation will take place and you never know... you may get "the grand tour". :-)

A friend of mine took me to this old building. It was at the end of a road that I thought ended at the top of the hill. This beauty was only about 200 feet further!

Thanks, Judy! I don’t believe I would venture inside that first one.

That sounds like a good approach....might be hard to find owners...In which case, I'd just take pix from a safe distance then crop to your heart's content!

I've always been drawn to forgotten buildings and the stories they tell..when you photograph them they trigger

your imagination. An abandoned photo, graffiti, broken windows, sagging roofs...tell their secrets..Lets see

you've discovered !
