Nice colours and good silhouette of the tree and fore ground.

Fire in the Sky...you really captured the orange and yellow hues. I bet everything around had an orange glow. Cool shot.

These colors only lasted 5 or 6 minutes. I was lucky I had the D800E in the car with the 28-300mm Nikkor already on it. If I would have had to open the camera case and mount a lens I am sure I would have missed it completely. I know sunsets get blase, but nice ones like this are still worth shooting to me.

MT, you can certainly answer my question I asked on another post...What the difference (either brand) if any of models that have 1, 2, 3, or 4 digits in their model #s? (if you don't mind me asking)

The BIGGEST difference is perception by the user.

Thanks Mike. I got one similar to this over Lake Tahoe back in the 80's, but it was on Ektachrome and has faded badly since then.

Beautiful shot that somehow shows the power of the sun but also a tranquil quality to it. I very much like the tree and have seen similar shots of merely the sky that really don't do much for me personally. Hope to see more shots coming of "Big Sky Country"............

Is it any wonder they call Montana the big sky country.
