Butterflies and Moths Challenge 8/21-8/25 2020

Thinking that it would be appropriate to have a challenge on butterflies and moths since the butterflies and

moths will be scarce soon. Monarchs Will be migrating to Mexico in the near future. They are such beautiful

pollinators. Here are a couple of great videos that are very good on the subject...

My favorite subject to photograph. Taken from my deck into the garden.
Camera: Nikon D800
Lens: Nikon 200-500 mm f/5.6
Shot at 500 mm
Exposure: Auto exposure, Shutter priority AE, 1/1,000 sec, f/5.6, ISO 1600
Handheld

A pretty yellow moth: A False Crocus Geometer moth also know as a Xanthotype Moth


Several years ago I found a pretty yellow moth in our yard. I found its id and discovered that this moth actually was known by two names. I found that it was called a Xanthotype Moth... Xanthotype is the Greek word for yellow!
