I am trying to decide if Luminar 4 is worth buying or not...I would want to use it for sky replacement mostly...

I currently use Lightroom and PS Elements

will there be any advantages to adding Luminar 4 to my battery of Post Processing Software.

Thanks for your input

Chuck

Personal opinion: Luminar 4 is worth every penny you spend for it. It does a lot more than just replace skies. One warning though their Tech Support sucks

Others may and will have different ideas. Down load the free trial full function software from their site and decide for your self.

I like Luminar and have been using it from the beginning. But 4, wow, I'm having a lot of buggy problems with it; way more than version 3. It's super slow - even the latest upgrade - and sometimes doesn't open at all (I use it as a Lightroom plug-in). I've been extremely disappointed.

Anything you buy that is extremely cheap you run the risk that the program has been modified to install all kinds of nefarious software.

If all you are buying is a "key" that is a different story as you can download the trial version and use the key to activate it.

There is a reason why the software is $5.00 they want access to your computer.

I have it, and I have used this instead of LR, and the AI Sky replacement is very good, and they are always offering additional options.

I have Luminar 4.2 and am pleased with it. Can't beat the value and performance for the money! Do the free trial and see for yourself.

I have been using Luminar 4 for quite a while. I am an affiliate. I have added my own skies to the program, I prefer to use my own. I have them labeled by location.

I don't have any problems with the program. I think it depends on your computer memory and graphics.

I do have a discount code. PM me if interested.

Use the trial version first, as there are some issues with version 4.3 that have not been resolved yet. If the trial works, then you're good to go.

I use it free standing and it is awesome. Maybe Lightroom uses too much memory and Luminar doesn't have enough. Try it freestanding and you will change your mind.

Definitely. Beyond the sky feature, it has a much better spot removal tool than LR, and it has many other enhancing features that you will learn to like. I use it as a plug-in to LR, and find myself using to finish many of my post-processing jobs.

I bought it 2 weeks ago and had no problems with the installation or the speed on several uses. Yesterday, it was like i was working on a different computer. Wouldn't export a shot i worked on for a long time. So i tried to save the "look" and went back in through LR to try it as a plugin (which worked before yesterday also). No go. Plus i had to try twice to open it. Rebooted my computer a few times through all of this. I'm wondering if the video RAM allocation needs to be increased. I'll try that today as well as maybe doing an uninstall/reinstall to see if that helps. My computer has 16 GB RAM, Intel I7 - 3.40Gzh processor, and Nvidia GeForce 750 Ti, - all drivers updated. It should be handling this program.

I have been using Luminar since it started. No longer have as much need for Lightroom. It's certainly worth having in your arsenal.

Sadly I think if people who are experiencing problems are using a Windows computer. On Macs there are far fewer.
I use it exclusively and would sooner be "out there" than staring at computer screens. This does what I want in less time than Adobe products have in the past.
