Swallows feeding on a bug hatch

Violet Green swallows were feeding on a bug hatch.
Total overcast from a approaching snow storm created
the white background. The last 3 were from a 1 second
burst. There is a bug in the last shot.

Good shooting !
I can hardly keep swallows in sight when they’re close enough to photograph.
The bug is a bonus 😄

This bird is extremely fast. You were at the right place when you got these pictures. Great job

Well done. Of course, the last with the bug, is my favorite.

Thank you Marianne. I've been attempting to shoot feeding
swallows for a few years now, every shot I learn a little something
new. This time it was the overcast sky that created a new challenge.

Thank you Bonnie for taking a look. I have a few others with
the swallows closing on a bug, that is what keeps me coming
back. It's early in the season for bug hatches, just nice to be
outside. Be safe.

Thank you Corky. I usually sit at the rivers bank with the sun at my back.
I watch for some flight pattern, they do slow down when they
approach the feeding area. I take short bursts when attempting
to capture one that I can keep in the viewfinder.
