Mostly Sandhill Cranes in flight

via the lens Loc: Northern California, near Yosemite NP

Taken the first week of December, Bosque del Apache and/or Gordon S. Ladd wildlife refuges near Socorro, New Mexico. Taken with a Nikon D500 and a Nikon 200-500 for the most part, but could have also been a rented Nikon 500mm PF, I did not check that when I exported. Shot wide open at faster shutter speeds. Processed in LR and could have gone to PS for additional processing. I use PS to remove unwanted things and sharpen images. I don't crop a lot but instead try to shoot for the shot but I do use transform in LR.

Very nice. I especially like the perspective on many of your shots. Not easy to get anything but "up in the sky" shots of these guys.

Thanks for posting these great shots. I am lucky to see them and listen to their voices from small dots high above on their way North. I will always treasure the haunting sound they make at twilight on the Alaskan Tundra.

An excellent set Connie! They are amazing to watch on the ground and breathtaking in the air. Nice work. Phil

All outstanding, but I love the last, of the beautiful white flock filling the frame
