Those young heroes of WW2 kept us Free! God bless them.
Congratulations on such a fine tribute. I'll bet that you are also a great husband, father, and . . . .
Also, the photograph looks to be a hand tinted photo, and if so, that is certainly a beautiful piece of lost art from the past.
A very nice tribute to your dad. He would be proud. Thanks for sharing the story.
Nice memories!! Nice post!!
God bless.

My Uncle was with Patton in WWII. Very quite after the war and his son only discovered his awards after he had died in the 1980. Always salute or veterans.

Thanks Dennis.....my Dad never spoke about his service on Normandy's beach either. I guess we just didn't realize how much they suffered from those battles and what they went through to make a great life for us. He lost most of his hearing from the artillery blasts and wouldn't wear a hearing aid but never complained about what he didn't get.......only celebrated what he had. I sure miss him terribly.
Nice story Blair. We both had dads that were larger than life
Wow!!!!! What a wonderful story. Your dad was quite a man and your family has much to be proud of. Thanks for sharing it, Dennis.
As an ex Air Forcer, I salute him.
Thanks for sharing his photo and personal background on him. Happy Birthday Dad, you were one of our very special heros.
What an absolute hero! My dad was rejected for the draft and he spent the war building airplane wings. Yes they were the greatest generation!
