The blue on the slot canyon wall is a reflection from the blue sky. Water was seeping down the canyon wall making it wet, shiny and reflective of the blue sky. A once in a lifetime sight.

I went to my Benchmark Road and Recreation Atlases for Utah and AZ, which have very detailed maps, but could not find any reference to Wire Pass or Coyote Buttes, although there was mention of a Coyote Knolls in a very remote area of Utah. Could you be so kind as to further identify the location, how it's accessed, is it BLM land, state park, private, etc.? I ask because your fabulous image makes me want to go there and I plan to visit the red rock country in the SW this coming spring. Thanks for any further info and for posting this wonderful image.
