In the 5th image the reflection in the lower left corner just above the street light looks like gumby

Suzhou is a city- quite an ancient one too. It is some 2,500 years old and has the distinction of being the only major city in China that has never been moved (Yes, the Chinese move their cities...). Suzhou is a scant 25 minute bullet train ride (200 mph!!!) from Shanghai and a 2nd class ticket costs about $5.
Suzhou is a city within Jiangsu Provence. Cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are city provences, so you were kinda right. :-)
