In this 8th and final installment we are visiting the city of Toledo, Spain, a relatively small city with a population of just under 90,000. Despite its smaller size, we found it to be thoroughly enjoyable and tourist friendly. Toledo is located approximately 45 miles from Madrid, a bus ride of about an hour. Toledo is an ancient city, having served as the capital of the region from 542 to 725 AD. It is famous as the birthplace of a type of candy known as marzipan, which consists mostly of sugar and ground almonds. It is also known for producing high quality knives and swords made of exceptionally hard steel. Posting 10 images. Comments welcome and I hope you enjoy.

Very nice set. THanks for taking us there.
Must have been an enjoyable trip, thanks for the tour, enjoyed your photo's.
And I was under the impression "marzipan" came from Germany.
Interesting fact, thanks....
Excellent series with a nice variety of subjects!
One of my favorite places in Spain. Nice.
A very fine set, I enjoyed it. I visited Toledo in 2016 and have an almost identical photo of the cathedral front. Did you go inside? (I have some photos of the interior.)
