I'm a hobbyist photographer - definitely enjoy the artistic/creative aspects of photography more than the technical side, but I want to improve so I've started to read up and learn more. I won't have much to contribute to many of your discussions, but I've learned a lot from your conversations and I appreciate everyone's willingness to share and encourage. I have a Lumix XS100 that I'll be taking on a trip next month - visiting Christmas markets through southern Germany. I'm extremely excited for this "bucket list" trip and hope I'm able to capture some winners!
When I'm not on vacation, I spend my days working for the Mouse here in Orlando, and a lot of my free time playing in the parks (since they're in my backyard and all). I was born and raised in upstate NY, so I'm enjoying all the fall and winter postings coming through. I'll try and post some shots soon from my recent archive, since it seems like a good way to introduce myself and my style to a bunch of photographers.
Welcome to the forum Sharon!
(I lived in Altamonte for over 25 years. I miss DW.)
Welcome Sharon!
I have lived in WNY for most of my 61 years. I love it here..(in Niagara county..about 30 min drive to the Falls.)
If it wasn't for NYC this would be the greatest state in the country. IMHO anyway. ;)
I love the season changes here, and the great lakes, and the mountains, etc. People think it's ALL NYC...that is only a TINY bit of it. Most of it is beautiful.
As I said, Welcome!! I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Welcome aboard. We all would be interested in your photo submissions.
I was also born in upstate NY, Olean on the Southern tier.
Give my best to Mickey and Goofy. I have seen them numerous times in the Western Disneyland but never in Orlando.

Welcome to the forum Sharon.

I have two coworkers from NYC - we have a longstanding clash about NY the city versus NY the state. I stand firm behind my winning argument that the state capital isn't anywhere close to the City! Schenectady/Saratoga area are my old stomping grounds. Problems of a Northern transplant to the South: I talk about Shenendehowa and everyone thinks I'm saying Shenandoah wrong!
Welcome to UHH Sharon. I'm from NYS also, not quite as far upstate as you were from.
Welcome to the forum, I am from Colonie, born and raised in Cohoes. Now retired and living in Florida. Love photography and this forum. Hope you learn a lot from very knowledgeable people.
Hi there...... Welcome to the Hog 🦔
