I like both. They have different strengths. But I wonder why you chose to crop the little trees out when doing the B&W. If we are to compare, I'd rather compare the same images/crops. It's the apples/oranges thing.

I would have a very difficult time choosing one over the other. I tend to prefer color and I really like this color version of the landscape. However, the simplicity of the B&W version is so flowing and soothing that I love it too.

OK, I had a couple of requests about this image from my Down in the Valley series.
Someone thought it would look better with the line of little trees in the foreground cropped off.
Someone wanted to see it in B&W.
So here is a version that is cropped and rendered in B&W.
Personally I like the little trees in the foreground and I like the color version better.
But different people have different tastes. Being the nice guy I am, I try to be accommodating.

I love both versions and think you have a really gorgeous image here. It's dreamy and wonderful.

Nice work.

Color version with the trees is the better one, to me.

I like both the color and the B & W versions with the exception that I too like the small bushes/trees in the foreground in the color version. I think it sets the vastness of the overall image that is missing in the B & W version.

They’re not the same picture, so it’s hard to judge.

I guess for a change, I'm in the majority! I like the color version, it seems to have more "life" in it.

I have to agree with almost everybody's response. Number 1 shows the variation of the fog so much better and the impact is way more powerful.

I love the black and white version. Nicely done. Good rendition of tonalities.
